Depeche Mode

So I guess camera phones from the nosebleed seats don't take great shots of concerts...I've never seen this band and never thought I would. Always thought their stuff was pretty good but my wife really wanted to go to this concert for her 36th birthday...I sprung for tickets (obviously a little later) and we had a good time..The lead singer (main guy whatever his name is) is pretty active up there...It's like watching David Lee Roth except this guy dances funny and really gets the crowd going.

Del Mar Surf 11/14/05

Surfed at Del Mar with Ryan this morning. Pretty fun, super clean and glassy, but super high tide bouncing off the cliffs. Despite the extra fattened conditions we both picked off some great waves that peeled into shorebreak that were short-boardable for the most part...Water's getting cooler, fog is making it cooler, and I wore booties again....Probably didn't need them though..Fun session..

Ok, Ok...so this isn't surf related....But Evan's wearing my hat that has a guy doing a noseride on it, does that count? He kept yanking that thing off and putting it on the ground but he had fun....He probably doesn't realize how much good that does for my bald head when the sun is bright..It was a hazy day...Riley and Evan got to see a lot of monkies, gorillas, and lots of cool birds...It seems that the fall and winter are a better time to see a lot of animals come out since it's not so hot there.

Scripps 11/8/05 Surf..

Went out with Jeff, Mike, and Ryan this morning. It was very glassy and pretty small but if you really paddled hard you could get some long rights and lefts..I rode my 9'4" and it was perfect for today's conditions..Well worth it and here comes some rain!

Law Street Session 11/6/05

Went for a surf at Law Street yesterday (Sunday) after bringing the wife and kids up to the beach. I brought the 9'4" and the 7'4" but opted for the longer board due to the surf looking a bit mushy. It was, much more fun than it looked and I had a good solid hour in front of the pumphouse getting rights and lefts without too many obstacles other than a few beginners and some kelp...

Winter of no lessons...

So ok, no lessons this winter due to cooler conditions but I may get a taker here or there...So I'll post some reports here, random surf stuff, etc. to keep the blog alive through the winter months!
