Mower and Sprung Monkey Show
Went to Saska's with Cheryl for an after Valentines Day dinner and then to the Mower and Sprung Monkey Show at Canes in Mission Beach. Mower is a heavier band than Sprung Monkey. The bass player is a guy named Chris McCredie that used to live near Sebastian Inlet and I went to Melbourne High School with. It's a small world catching back up with him out this way.
This pic is from the Mower website. This is one of the two lead singers they have.

Cheryl's not a big fan of the type of music I listen to but she was a good sport and had a few glasses of wine and just enjoyed the evening. Sprung Monkey is one of my favorite So Cal bands from the 90's so I had a really good time. We hungout with some of my friend Mike's group and they were a little crazier than I'm used to hanging out with..they were tatooed pretty much all over their arms (the guys anyway) and were in my age range yet went out in the pit and took a beating from the drunken big skinhead wannabe types. I'll stick to the side and enjoy the show and not risk an injured limb!
Labels: Canes Bar and Grill, Metal, Mission Beach, Mower, Punk Rock, San Diego Music Scene, Saska's, Sprung Monkey

Yeah...mosh pits are not for me either.
Ha! I did the bio for Sprung Monkey's last album. :-)
Good band. They've got a band on the side that's all acoustical. I hope to catch them soon.
