Sliding Liberia

Went with my wife and Ryan Zimmerman to see the Slideshow by Dan Malloy and his travelling partner on their trip to Liberia. It was pretty incredible with amazing surf, scenery, and looking at all of the damage of 14 years of civil war. This full-length movie should come out in the future and I want to see it. We saw it at the Patagonia store in Cardiff. Pretty amazing footage. We also saw the film in 1969 about the owner of Patagonia making a trip to Ventura down to Patagonia and climing an incredible mountain in Argentina. http://www.slidingliberia.com/

Weak Del Mar Today 07/30/2007

Surfed with Ryan today at 15th and it was fun but weak and inconsistent. New swell arriving tomorrow. Got this shot today which gives you an idea how weak it was..I did get one pretty good left to come in on which was cool.

New Statue of a surfer in Cardiff-Hilarious

I had to post this guy's posting. This is horrid. I saw this yesterday morning on the way into surfing and it's some kid flailing not looking anything like a surfer. Makes me sad. Didn't the ones of slater and proper and others look better than this in Cocoa Beach? I sure hope so...Either way the guy who sculpted this actually does surf..But I'm wondering how well? If he puts his butt out like that and his arms all over the place I'm sure not so well. :)

Scripps Pier 07/02/2007

Ryan, Mike, Max and I surfed Scripps. It was pretty fun in the waist to chest high range. Pretty good size, clean, and good power. And you could wear boardshorts..Can't beat that. Believe it or not that's the cord for my 2 mil wetsuit top that's hanging down behind me, not my crack in this picture I got today on surfinside.com.
